Fletcher Arms
by Alek Olson
Everyone has their own style, story, skillset, motivators, ambitions, passions, and convictions. For Sean and Megan Eaton, their passion is to serve and equip customers to confidently serve and protect their families, businesses, communities, and country through their Wisconsin gun ranges.
Fletcher Arms was founded in 1978, serving Waukesha and the surrounding areas with integrity and passion ever since. The 2008 economic downturn caused the former owners to sell the business, and at the same time, Eaton’s dissatisfaction with the IT industry was growing. He recognized the golden opportunity to buy the gun range, despite having almost no firearm experience.
With a little bit of luck, good timing, and drive, Eaton became the owner and led the business to grow and thrive, including opening a second location in December 2021 in Lake Country. This range was previously a law enforcement training center for a local technical college, so it was the perfect fit for the company’s second location.
At both locations, Fletchers offers an extensive selection of firearms, accessories, optics, clothing, ammunition, gunsmithing, memberships and even training courses.
Fletcher Arms is a United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) training center. USCCA’s focus is to legally protect, train, and equip its members to be prepared to protect themselves and those that they love. Megan Eaton and many of the Fletcher Arms staff are USCCA Certified trainers who focus on training people in their communities. Often, gun ranges and firearms retailers focus more on military and law enforcement, which is very much needed, but Sean and Megan’s passion is to train civilians--men and women, young and old.
When we visited the Lake Country location, we discovered it is “Ladies Day” on Thursdays, featuring half off a range pass with the purchase of ammunition. There were several women shooting at their range who are part of a national group called “A Girl & A Gun,” which has chapters across the country for women to shoot, train and compete.
Fletcher Arms prioritizes equipping all walks of life to be prepared and to have fun at the range while doing so, so if you are ever in the Lake Country or Waukesha area of Wisconsin, be sure to stop by, spend some time at the range, and use it as an opportunity become more prepared and build a bigger firearmfriendly community while doing so!
